2006 Swimming Championship
Monday, July 24, and Tuesday, July 25, 2006

John Q. Witherspoon Pool, Princeton, New Jersey

Facility:  The pool is 8 lanes by 25 yards; it has Colorado Timing with touch pads at the finish for 11 & Overs.  All 10 & Under events will use a secondary timing system.  The entire meet will be shown on live video.  Absolutely no glass is allowed in the facility.  Lawn chairs and picnicking are permitted outside.  Lawn chairs are not permitted in the pool area.  Since we are guests at the school, we ask everyone to show respect for the facility and pick up their own trash. 

Host Teams:  Hamilton, Ravine, Hopewell Valley Tennis, Country Pool.

Format:  This championship meet will run as a pre-seeded timed final meet.  Sessions and age groups participating for each session will be announced by June meeting.  2006 USA Swimming rules will be in effect throughout the meet.

Schedule:  Doors open at 7:00 a.m. on Monday and 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday; all 12/unders will be on Monday; all 14 & 17/unders will be on Tuesday.  Warm-up and sessions are posted on the web at www.besmarttinc.com.

Eligibility:  Swimmer’s age as of June 1, 2006 will determine age for the entire PASDA session.  Bona fide PASDA swimmers are eligible to compete if they are on the team roster no later than July 7th, 2006, and they have competed in two (2) dual meets during the session.  A swimmer may swim on one relay and three individual events or two relays and two individual events.  A swimmer may not swim three relays and one individual event or four relays. 

Entries:  HY-TEK entries are encouraged, or you may use a meet entry form.  All entry times must be in yards.  Use .901 to convert meters to yards.

Entry fees:  $3.00 for each individual events; $8.00 for each relay.  Make one check payable to PASDA.  Please no cash and no individual checks.  All fees should be paid by Tuesday, July 18, 2006.

Scoring:  By division, individual events to 16 places: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1; relays to 8 places: 40-34-32-30-28-26-24-22.

Awards:  Medals and ribbons will be awarded by division.  Medals for 1st to 8th place for individual events; ribbons for 9th to 16th place for individual events, medals for 1st to 3rd place for relays.  The Most Valuable Swimmer (MVP) award for each sex/age group will be based on one point for a first place in up to two individual events and one point for each record.  Team championship trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team in each division.  The Ray Wagner Sportsmanship Award will be given to one club in each division that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship, cooperation, and friendly competition.

Officials and Timers:  Teams are requested to provide as many certified officials as possible.  Team timing responsibilities will be assigned and distributed with verification sheets; timers need to have their own stopwatches.  Jeffrey Mace will be the Meet Referee.

Entry Submission:  Complete entries with full payment must be received by Monday, July 10th, 2006 by noon, if paper or Thursday, July 13th, 2006 is on disk.  Deliver entries to BE Smartt, Inc., 604 Paxson Avenue, Mercerville, NJ  08619.

Entry Verification:  A representative from each team needs to pick-up their entry verification sheet and timing assignments on Monday, July 17th, 2006 between 10:00 a.m. and noon from Ellen at home; those entering on disk via email will receive this info via email.  All changes, corrections and additions are due back to Ellen by Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.  Absolutely no changes, additions or corrections will be accepted after that time.  No deck entries will be considered.

Programs:  There will be charge of $6.00 for the complete program.

Admissions:  There will be a $4.00 admission charge for spectators each session.

Refreshments:  There will be a concession and coaches’ hospitality.

Vendor:  A swim shop will be in attendance.

Results:  Final results will be posted on the Internet at www.besmarttinc.com; a hard copy will be given to each team at the league meeting on August 2, 2006.
